How to Make Fresh Homemade Nut Milk
Homemade nut milk is a delicious, creamy, and healthy alternative to store-bought versions. Unlike commercial options, it contains no preservatives, additives, or unnecessary sugars. Plus, it’s incredibly simple to make with just two ingredients!
Why Make Your Own Nut Milk?
• It’s free from preservatives and artificial ingredients.
• You can adjust the flavour and consistency to your liking.
• Making it at home is more budget-friendly than buying pre-packaged versions.
• By skipping cartons, you’ll be reducing waste and making a more sustainable choice.

Ingredients:
• 1 cup raw nuts (cashews, almonds, or hazelnuts)
• 3 cups water
Instructions:
1. Soak the Nuts
Place your chosen nuts in a bowl and cover them with water.
Allow them to soak for 8 hours or overnight to soften, making blending easier.
Once soaked, drain and rinse well to remove excess starch.
2. Blend Until Smooth
Add the soaked nuts to a high-powered blender along with 3 cups of fresh water.
Blend for about 60 seconds, or until the mixture becomes completely smooth and creamy.
3. Strain the Milk
Pour the blended mixture through a nut milk bag or a fine-mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth.
Squeeze firmly to extract as much liquid as possible, leaving behind the nut pulp.
4. Store and Enjoy
Transfer the fresh nut milk to an airtight container or glass bottle.
Keep it refrigerated, and consume within three days for the best taste.
Before using, give it a good shake, as natural separation may occur.
Tips & Variations:
• Want extra creaminess? Reduce the water to 2 cups instead of 3.
• Prefer a touch of sweetness? Blend in 1-2 dates or a drizzle of maple syrup.
• Enhance the flavour! Try adding a dash of vanilla extract, cinnamon, or even cocoa powder.
• Wondering what to do with leftover nut pulp? Dry it out in the oven and use it as a flour substitute for baking!
With just a little effort, you’ll have fresh homemade nut milk that’s perfect for smoothies, cereals, coffee, and baking. Once you try it, you may never go back to store-bought!
